Course Overview:

This Film and Television Production course is designed for students with previous study or work experience in the film and television sector who want to improve their skills and increase their chances of employment or who have completed their first year at Big Fish specialise their training according to the following electives:

  • Research
  • Proposal Writing
  • Scriptwriting
  • Producing
  • Directing
  • Camera
  • Sound
  • Editing
  • Studio

Career Opportunities include: Production Manager/Co-ordinator; Assistant Director; Cameraman; Junior Offline Editor; Sound Assistant. Many of our second year students’ films are invited to take part in International Film Festivals where they are often the only students’ films being screened.  Graduates are fully competent in conceptualising, developing and producing their own work.

Course Duration: Full time for ten months
Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm

This course is not available on a part-time basis.

Entry Requirements: Completion of the Higher Certificate: Film, Television and Video Production Operations (NQF4); or Recognised qualification from another institution; or Grade 12 and at least three years’ experience in the film industry.

All shortlisted applicants will be required to undergo an interview for selection.
